Jaguar Engine Timing Sprocket - Genuine Jaguar C2Z30685

Product Information

An engine timing sprocket is a toothed wheel mounted on the crankshaft or camshaft that engages with a timing chain or belt to synchronize the rotation of the engine’s valves and pistons. This precise timing ensures efficient combustion, smooth power delivery, and prevents internal engine damage. A properly functioning sprocket is essential for maintaining correct valve timing and overall engine performance.

• Rattling or knocking noises from the timing area, often due to worn sprocket teeth.
• Engine misfires or poor performance, caused by incorrect valve timing.
• Complete engine failure to start, if the sprocket slips or fails to engage properly.

About Genuine Jaguar

The original parts used by Jaguar to build your car are available as replacement parts under the “Genuine Jaguar” brand. Manufactured under the direction of Jaguar, expect excellent quality and a premium price since these parts are exclusively available through the Jaguar Dealership network.

You may not realize this, but the parts that make up your Jaguar are not necessarily manufactured by Jaguar. No cause for concern, as Jaguar designs the part, hires a manufacturer, and ensures its quality to you. In fact, many of these manufacturers have been making parts for Jaguar for decades. In our industry these manufacturers are called OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and these are often brands you recognize, including Lemforder, ZF, Sachs, Bosch, Valeo, Zimmermann, Siemens VDO, Corteco, and more. Don’t be surprised to open that Genuine Jaguar parts box and find an OEM branded part inside, simply with the addition of a Jaguar logo.

Be sure to keep an eye out for OE tags on our product pages to quickly identify parts coming direct from OE manufacturers. That extra bit of insight could save you some serious money while shopping! Refer to our OE Academy for further information regarding the OE/OEM tags throughout the site.
