Can I upgrade this package to 3 ton capacity or this will be safe for an x 5 because this car weighs almost 5 thousand pounds? Do I also need some special pads to go on top of the jack and the stands?

For an X5, I would recommend stepping up from this 2-ton W1605 to a 3-ton or heavier floor jack, especially if you plan to work underneath the vehicle regularly. This package cannot simply be upgraded to 3-ton capacity—the jack supplied with it remains a 2-ton/4,000-lb unit.
You should also use a BMW jack-pad adapter at the factory rectangular lifting points. We carry BMW Jack Pad Adapter 096641010, and it is included in our X5 jack-pad-adapter catalog. For the stands, make sure their saddles securely support the BMW lifting pads rather than placing a narrow metal edge against the plastic pad.
Never work underneath the X5 while it is supported only by the hydraulic jack. For support or assistance with repair instructions please send a request to service@fcpeuro.com with full VIN and this request.

Is this a low profile floor jack? The clearance on the 2006 Z4s are super low so it's hard to get under it.
