The tool can be used on many domestic and import vehicles with an emergency brake cable at the rear wheels. Works on drum brake applications as well as vehicles with rear disc brakes.

About Lisle

Founded in 1903, C.A. Lisle started the company with the first product being horse-powered water well drilling machines. On the off season to the well drilling business, they manufactured washing machines, cream separators, and push-type reel lawn mowers. In the mid-20s, Lisle Corporation made its first automotive product, a master ignition vibrator for Ford Model T vehicles. The first Lisle tool, a valve refacer, fast became a repair shop must since valves were reground every 20,000 miles at that time. In the 1930's they also manufactured magnetic oil drain plugs that were used in WWII for military equipment resulting in the Army/Navy E Award for manufacturing excellence in supporting the war effort. In the 1950's after the war, the automotive aftermarket boomed and demand for specialty automotive tools increased. It was then that the Lisle Corporation made the decision to grow the company by introducing new tools that could be made in the company's own factory, thereby controlling quality, delivery and costs. Today the company's tool line consists of more than 400 products of which most are produced at the original location, now expanded, in Clarinda, Iowa.

Per the description it seems this tool is for removing the parking brake cable at the wheel carrier only? Just wanted to confirm. I'm looking for a tool to remove parking brake cable at the rear subframe, leaving the wheel carrier alone on a 2010 C207 E350. Thank you.

The Lisle 44220 is designed for releasing the parking brake cable at the wheel/brake assembly (backing plate area) only. It is not intended for removing the cable at the rear subframe or equalizer. For subframe-side removal on a C207 E350, you’ll need to manually release the retaining clips using basic hand tools (pliers/picks), as there isn’t a dedicated tool for that step.
