About Lisle

Founded in 1903, C.A. Lisle started the company with the first product being horse-powered water well drilling machines. On the off season to the well drilling business, they manufactured washing machines, cream separators, and push-type reel lawn mowers. In the mid-20s, Lisle Corporation made its first automotive product, a master ignition vibrator for Ford Model T vehicles. The first Lisle tool, a valve refacer, fast became a repair shop must since valves were reground every 20,000 miles at that time. In the 1930's they also manufactured magnetic oil drain plugs that were used in WWII for military equipment resulting in the Army/Navy E Award for manufacturing excellence in supporting the war effort. In the 1950's after the war, the automotive aftermarket boomed and demand for specialty automotive tools increased. It was then that the Lisle Corporation made the decision to grow the company by introducing new tools that could be made in the company's own factory, thereby controlling quality, delivery and costs. Today the company's tool line consists of more than 400 products of which most are produced at the original location, now expanded, in Clarinda, Iowa.

Not for Volvo B230F LH2.2
Seems like a quality product but could not be used for my intended application 1988 Volvo 245. Oxygen sensor fits into recess in exhaust manifold and this tool would not contact the hex. 22mm wrench did the job, so much for using the "right" tool.

Did not on installation for BMW E36 upstream Bank 1 Oxygen Sensor
Unfortunately did not fit over the O2 sensor due to a bolt on the side, so I had to use regular wrench on installation...

Must have!
Definitely a must have tool to use when replacement of your failed o2 sensors on the N54 engines. The hassle of using anything else is not worth enduring. A short ratchet and this tool combined with a squirt of PB blaster makes the job much easier . I have a Lisle tirerod removal tool and based on its durability led me to make this purchase. Buy it and save your knuckles!
