About BAUM

Baum Tools Unlimited, Inc. was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1959 by Charles Baum. Beginning as a tool jobber driving a VW bus all over the US, Chuck supplied Volkswagen and Porsche dealer technicians and repair shops with metric hand tools from Belzer Tools of Germany. Soon realizing that the use of VW special tools not only saved time for the mechanic, but generated higher earnings for the repair shop, he expanded into the growing line of VW and Porsche special tools. As his customers businesses succeeded, so did Baum Tools.

As the business grew through the 1960’s, Baum Tools expanded into Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Volvo and Saab special tools. In the mid 1970’s Baum Tools opened a Southeast division. In 1983 complete operations were moved from Los Angeles to Sarasota, Florida.

excellent quality tool
This is my first Baum tool. Excellent tool. Great quality. The guage is easy to orient easily to read while operating. The securing fixture works well but a bit better with a touch of lube. Very happy and this is a much better way to fill coolant vs. just pouring it in and wasting time getting rid of air.

Hello, does this system work with 2007 Mercedes E350 (W211/S211)? I’ve been having a hard time finding anything that would seal around the expansion tank. There is a pressure relief port under the expansion tank cap and none of the kits I’ve tried so far (from Amazon) effectively incorporate a means to seal off this pressure relief port. Thanks.

This is a semi-universal kit that can be used on many vehicles. Baum does not mention any specific fitment for Mercedes vehicles or expansions tanks with the pressure relief port.

The description mentions Porsche specifically but this item shows up as fitting both my 2016 X3 F25 xdrive28i and my 2021 G30 xdrive 540i. Will it work on both of my cars (technically I don't really need it for the X3 but I would use it anyway to save time).
