WARNING: Proposition 65 information
Headlight Restoration Kit

A headlight restoration kit is a product designed to restore clarity and brightness to faded, yellowed, or oxidized headlight lenses. These kits typically include sanding pads, polishing compounds, and protective sealants to remove surface damage and improve light output. By restoring headlights, drivers regain better nighttime visibility, improve vehicle appearance, and enhance overall road safety without the need for costly headlight replacements.

Headlight Restoration Kit Failure Symptoms
  • Cloudy or yellowed headlight lenses, reducing light projection.
  • Diminished nighttime visibility, even with functioning bulbs.
  • Persistent haze or scratches that remain after incomplete restoration.

Read the Insructions
I picked up this kit from my local Advance. Watched the video on Griot's Garage's website and double checked the written instructions. My Jetta had one original headlight from 2012 and one newer that was replaced in a fender bender. Took my time, put on some music and got to work. Wash, wet sand, dry to check for consistency, repeat as needed. You want to make sure you are not missing any spots. Left over clear coat or surface that has not been sanded enough will ruin the look. Once the whole headlight is uniformly scuffed and clouded all over. Just wipe on the coating. Now the 14 year old headlight makes the 2 year old one look like trash in comparison.

cleaning the headlights
I am not satisfied with the Ceramic Headlight Restoration Kit (Severe) GRG-11422. The kit slightly cleaned the headlights, but they are still cloudy

Griot’s Ceramic Headlight Restoration Kit
Purchased the kit last December. I wasn’t a 100% sure about buying since you hear a lot of promises from manufacturers of this product. When FCP had it on special, I bought a kit with some other components for my 2006 BMW 330i Sport. Now in March, BC Canada just had some good weather to apply to I took the box out of the garage and spent the next hour prepping and applying the contents. Showed my friends....everyone said wow! I’m impressed! Thanks FCP Euro.

Worked great!
I previously used another brand and the lights did not look like they did after I used Griot's severe ceramic repair kit. The lights look brand new now! I was suprised how good they turned out. Now let's hope the ceramic clear coating lasts!
