Product Information

Cera Tec is a high-tech ceramic wear protection product for all motor oils. Cera Tec reduces friction and wear due to ceramic compounds that withstand extremely high chemical and thermal loads. Prevents direct metal-to-metal contact, thus increasing the engine service life. The low-friction effect reduces fuel consumption in gasoline and diesel engines.

Application

300 ml is sufficient for up to 1.3 gal (5 liters) of motor oil. Long-term effect up to 30.000 miles (50.000 km). Shake container before use. Minimum oil filling of 3 liters (3.17 U.S. QT) is required for optimum product performance.

We recommend using this product every 5th oil service or every 25k miles. Cera Tec reduces the amount of friction and thereby the wear. This in turn benefits the engine, which is under less load. This can result in a lower susceptibility to repair and longer service life.

CERA TEC Engine Oil Additive - 07 Cayman S
For at least the last 3 oil changes, I have been adding one bottle of CERA TEC Engine Oil Additive (300ml Can) after each oil change. I have been sending a sample of the old oil off to Blackstone for analysis and the reports have come back within spec each time. Car has over 100k miles and hopefully the CERA TEC along with the Liqui Moly 0W-40 oil change kit (KIT-987OILKT1) will help keep the engine healthy for many more miles to come. I highly recommend both the Liqui Moly CERA TEC Engine Oil Additive and Liqui Moly 0W-40 oil.

it really does work you really do feel a difference. great product in my opinion and much needed especially with the other LIQUI MOLY additives. having a Shelf filled with the other additives for every oil change is a must. keeps your engine healthy and it gives you a peace of mind

Recommended for daily driving
As suggested by Garreth, I alternate MoS2 and CERA TEC and did noticed that engine is running much smoother after those addons to Liqui Moly oil. Highly recommend to add so that you can prolong engine lifetime.

Seemed to quite down the n55
Used this with some Liqui Moly 0W-40 for my N55. I can't confirm any actual results but seems like it quieted down some of the drivetrain. My engine has 116K Miles on it so this sound help with some of the worn clearances.

No, not at all, many customers use both additives consistently without issue and get the benefits of the anit-friction treatment as well as the protection against wear from Ceratec.

I'm confused, one answer says that this product is "certainly compatible" with automatic transmission while another answer says it's "NOT" compatible. What is the correct answer? Is this product compatible with my 2007 Volvo XC70 (with automatic transmission)?

This is an engine oil additive. The posts you saw mentioned it is not compatible with automatic transmissions, as in, this cannot be added to an automatic transmission's fluid. The other post confirmed, perhaps in poor wording, that this can be used in vehicles that have automatic transmissions because the transmission style does not matter. Sorry for the confusion.

Spoke to an Official LiquiMoly Rep in person at a car event. He did not recommend using this with the Molygen oil (green bottle) and the additives in the Cera Tec and in the Molygen would interfere with each other and have a severe negative impact rather than a positive one. He said that if I felt the need to add an additive to an oil that already protects so well that the MoS2 would be the way to go as they do not have additives that interfere with each other. Can someone verify this?

In this case I would have to agree with the LiquiMoly Rep, however I can attest to using this with Molygen and having no issues, as can others. Personally I would lean towards trusting the LiquiMoly Rep's knowledge of their products and detergents.

I just inherited a 2016 Q5 2.0 with 125,000 miles. My research indicates this would be good to add after a fresh oil change with Liqui Moly High Tech. Was going to use the fuel cleaner prior. Is this product good for my vehicle?

Is ceratec safe for n20 motor. Is it worth using. Or should I just stick to oil. Trying to quiet down n20 lifters and rattle. New timing chain so the engine has no issues.

Honestly, the N20 is on the noisy side, having run Ceratec on several variants over the year it has not made a difference in the sound or rattle. Will have the benefits of wear protection for sure, but will not do much to tamper the rattle.

I have not heard that myself, I have personally used Molygen on several occasions with Ceratec and used the engine flush prior to an oil change without any issue. The only thing I can think of is the amount of detergents in that combination, it may identify already leaky seals, but in my case and the engines I have used these on I have had no signs of leakage or poorly maintained gaskets to speak of and therefor no issues using this combo.
