I used these for 2 brake jobs, and there is still plenty left. I used a little brush to apply it. No noise or anything like that present after installing, so I would say it works well

Quiet brakes
No squeal, rattle etc. after replacing worn parts. Tip: look at old pads for pattern to show contact areas. Also, a dab on each spring assists fitting into caliper piston.

I used the kit sold by FCP to swap the front brakes on my Audi Q5, and am now getting a groan whenever I come to a complete stop or let off of the brakes gradually. Never had this before. I did use the provided red packet of grease/lube around the edges of the pads when installing, but did not use this grease anywhere. Would this help alleviate this issue? It's annoying!

Possibly, but it is very unlikely that this is the cause of your noise.

This is silicone based making it safe for contact with rubber.

This would be fine for the rubber dust boots. However the square cut seal should only be lubricated with brake fluid during assembly.
