This caliper file is ideal for scraping and removing deposits on the brake caliper carrier before installing new brake pads or hardware. Over time corrosion and brake debris can build up on the carriers. It's important to thoroughly clean the surface where the brake pads sit before installing new pads to ensure free movement of the new pads.

where has this file been my whole life?
I bought this as an add on when I was buying brake parts. Thiught it was worth a try. turns out I love this file! I make an annoying job of trying to clean out and properly shape the channel the pads slide in on the brake caliper So easy. It is the correct size and works so well it sholud be in every guys tool box. Save this one for just the brake channel to keep it eorking well. It is made just for that purpose. only has teeth on one face of the file to prevent scratching and damaging the other channel faces and works so well. Very inexpensive for a well made specialty tool that actually works.
