Suspension Strut Assembly

If your ride feels a little bouncy or you can feel clunks in the suspension while it's going over bumps it is likely due to worn strut assemblies and shock absorbers. The purpose of the strut assembly is it acts as a central pivot point for the suspension while housing the coil spring. It also dampens the compression and rebound of the coil spring as the suspension moves up and down. When replacing suspension components it is highly recommended to replace them in pairs.

Z3 3.0i
OE Sachs have an internal spring that keeps the shaft in a middle position. These don't, which makes them MUCH easier to install the spring on. Also, the shaft end has an internal 7mm hex shape compared to 8mm external on Sachs.

i will be needing the bump stops & dust covers also , bilsteins usually have a larger diameter piston so oe bump stops may not fit.do you have bump stops & dust covers to fit the bilsteins, or do they come with the strut

Only yellow body Bilstein's have a larger piston shaft and that is specifically in the case of shocks that are an inverted monotube. Bilstein B4's are OE style replacements and will use OE style bump stops. If your Z3 has a standard suspension you will need bump stop p/n 31331092670. If you have an M Sport Suspension you will need bump stop p/n 31332225377. The dust tube is the same part number regardless and can be found searching p/n 31331137932.
