Product Information

This kit includes all of the parts that make up the S55's oiling system. A known problem on N55 engines that see sustained lateral G's is the probability of oil starvation to the pickup which will result in bearing wear/damage and possible engine failure. The factory oil pickup on the N55 is fine for a road car but it's less than ideal for vehicles being driven on the track running sticky tires.

The oiling system from the S55 engine is the perfect upgrade option. These factory parts install onto the N55 engine without modification. Instead of a single pickup, the S55 utilizes a scavenge pump that constantly replenishes oil to the main sump. This ensures that there is never an oil starvation possibility. The factory S55 oiling system is so effective that it isn't modified whatsoever in the BMW F82 M4 GT4 race car.

Without modifications, no, the power steering pump bolt locations are incompatible and necessitate extreme modification to the s55 pan to account for this and for subframe clearance. This should be updated shortly, thank you for pointing that out.

Hey, I was just wondering what modifications would need to be made for this kit to fit on a BMW F20 135 N55. You don't have to option to add this car for guaranteed fitment. Just want to ensure that it would fit, thanks.

Hello, I noticed that the Q&A section states: "The n55/s55 oil level sensor are the same part #." But I found this not to be true in all cases. Most RWD N55 have sensor 12618608779 or 12617638341 (https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=12617638341) S55 and xDrive N55 have sensor 12618608780, which seems to be a bit longer (https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=12618608780) Can you confirm whether using one or the other affects oil level readings together with this kit? Thank you in advance.

Not sure on this one, the fitment of the kit is only limited to F2X/F3X rear wheel drive N55 cars. There are different lengths of level sensors but I don't see why you would need to change the level sensors when those are calibrated to the car in question. This kit doesn't change oil level/capacity so there should be no reason to swap the oil level sensor.

The subframes on F10 chassis are different and would not properly accomodate this oil pan from the S55.

The oil deflection / suction pipe is a different part number on the S55 versus the N55 however you do not include it in this kit. Bimmerworld does. Can you verify for all of us if the old one from the N55 engine can be used with this upgrade kit?

Fitments are only listed for F chassis cars which do not have hydraulic power steering. It should not be an issue.
