Carries coolant from engine to radiator

The upper radiator hose on your BMW endures drastic heating and cooling cycles. Because it carries hot coolant from the engine back to the radiator the rubber is more likely to swell and wear quicker than the lower radiator hose. We recommend regular inspection of this part for swelling or fatigue of the rubber.

Radiator Coolant Hose

Radiator hoses have an important job to transport your engine's coolant to and from its cooling system components. Over time they can become dry, hard, brittle, or leak which warrants a replacement. When replacing we also recommend a coolant flush and replacement to remove any possible sludge formed over time.

Recommended - Radiator / heating system cleaner by Liqui Moly LM2051. Radiator cleaner reliably removes dangerous deposits and allows the engine to run at the optimum temperature and operational reliability. Use as a preventive measure when performing a radiator hose replacement or coolant flush. Ideal for older systems.

It doesn't fit properly
I used a heat gun to loosen the fitting that connects to the upper radiator housing. Only then could I get it to fit all the way.

PITA
This is a solid replacement but the original hose is a pain to get off. Ended up breaking my radiator bracket
