Product Information

Radiator Coolant Hose

Radiator hoses have an important job to transport your engine's coolant to and from its cooling system components. Over time they can become dry, hard, brittle, or leak which warrants a replacement. When replacing we also recommend a coolant flush and replacement to remove any possible sludge formed over time.

Recommended - Radiator / heating system cleaner by Liqui Moly LM2051. Radiator cleaner reliably removes dangerous deposits and allows the engine to run at the optimum temperature and operational reliability. Use as a preventive measure when performing a radiator hose replacement or coolant flush. Ideal for older systems.

Radiator Coolant Hose Failure Symptoms
  • Cracking
  • Leaking
  • Swelling
  • Deterioration

About Rein

Founded in 2007, CRP Automotive introduced the Rein Automotive line of OE-quality replacement parts to the aftermarket. And in just two short years, Rein Automotive has become very popular among both warehouse distributors and professional repair technicians. Rein is the German word for “pure”, and has come to be synonymous with quality in the automotive aftermarket. A true dealer alternative.

The Rein brand includes a growing number of “better than OE” parts for selected applications. These parts address known weaknesses and premature failures of factory parts. Many of these replacement and service solutions have been developed with the help of our Innovation Council, a hand-picked group of experienced professional repair technicians and shop owners throughout North America.

All Rein Automotive OE-quality parts are backed by the CRP Automotive standard, and are backed with a ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification. Each year, CRP Automotive ships thousands of Rein Automotive brand products. And with widespread NAFTA market distribution through strategically placed warehouses in Cranbury, New Jersey and Puebla, Mexico - OE-quality products like Rein Automotive are delivered to customers both faster and more cost-effectively than ever before.

In 2017 Rein partnered with FCP Euro in competing a W204 C300 AER car for the 2017 season. The partnership focused FCP Euro to dive deep into the Rein catalog offering, and hundreds of new products were added and integrated into our catalog. Hundreds of new packages were created not only using the full part pine up of Rein products, but also the entire family of CRP products like Pentosin.

Rein is also an innovative brand, winning numerous trade awards — including multiple new product innovation awards at the annual AAPEX trade show.

Coolant hose leaks!!!
I purchased this coolant hose while overhauling the cooling system on my 2009 BMW X5 (E70) 3.0. Unfortunately, the hose developed a leak at the fitting where the small hose connects to the large composite piece. I replaced it through FCP Euro's lifetime warranty program and purchased a new one. Six months later, the same issue occurred in the exact same location. While I initially avoided the OEM part due to its higher cost, I’ve since noticed that the OEM version uses a different clamping mechanism, which appears to be more reliable. This suggests that the OEM manufacturer understands the design requirements better than the aftermarket suppliers. At this point, I’ve realized that while the lifetime warranty program is appealing in theory, its value diminishes when dealing with subpar parts. The frequent repairs and associated costs outweigh the benefits of the warranty, leaving me, the customer, repeatedly fixing the same issue! Ultimately, the only beneficiary is FCP Euro, as you’re effectively paying full price for a product that doesn’t last. I strongly recommend FCP Euro reconsider offering products with such low craftsmanship. In the long run, it’s simply not worth the hassle or the expense for the customer. Regards, Yassir

Questions & Answers

Ask a question
Question Posted by a customer
I can see why the new vent hose is needed, but what is the purpose of the cap?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The redesign of the upper radiator hose requires capping off to block the midway junction connector on the pre 5/2009 vent hose. If you buy the new return line the cap is not needed.
Question Posted by a customer
Explain why this does not have the small (3/8") vent hose that goes to the reservoir? How is the entrained air removed? (Bled out)
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
BMW redesigned some components of the E70 X5 3.0si/xDrive3.0i cooling system where hoses were changed along with the radiator. In this case when ordering this hose you must also order x1 p/n 17127536235 (updated vent hose) and x1 p/n 17127598004 (cap). In terms of bleeding air out of the system the vehicle in question has a self bleed function which turns the electric water pump on and circulates coolant through the system while pushing air out.
