Product Information

For vehicles with manual transmissions

If your BMW's radiator is leaking or is damaged from road debris where cooling fins are missing it may be time to replace the radiator. This OEM replacement is designed to drop in place just like the original. When replacing your radiator you will lose coolant. We recommend using Genuine BMW coolant

Radiator

Your radiator is an integral, and arguably, the most important part of the cooling system. It is designed to expel heat from the coolant via the small fins. Most radiators fail when the end tanks crack causing leaks, but higher mileage radiators which have missing or bent fins often are clogged up with debris which can also cause overheating issues as the radiator cannot expel heat effectively. If your radiator is in rough shape we recommend replacing it. We also highly recommend inspecting/replacing the upper and lower radiator hose at that time.

Radiator Failure Symptoms
  • Overheating
  • Coolant Leak
  • Cracking
  • Bent Fins
  • Clogged Fins caused by debris

About Mahle Behr

Mahle Behr GmbH & Co. KG is a German corporation active in the automobile industry, headquartered in Stuttgart-Feuerbach. It is a specialist for automotive air conditioning and engine cooling systems. Mahle began in 1920 when pistons made of heavy gray cast iron were being used in internal combustion engines for automobiles and there was a need for a new design. The Mahle brothers countered this trend by producing light-alloy pistons at their small, newly established company however the technology was still finicky and problems come up frequently. They soon determined that they needed to come up with a solution to keep dirt and dust out of the engine so they eventually developed air and oil filters as well. Their perseverance paid off and the light-alloy pistons began to take over the market. Today, half of all automobiles produced worldwide contain MAHLE components. MAHLE offers an extensive range of parts for everyone including pistons, cylinder liners, piston ring sets, bearings, assemblies, valves, valve train components, and air, oil, fuel, and cabin air filters. Their catalog and online database of aftermarket engine components is an indispensable reference. In early 2016, Stuttgart-based MAHLE GmbH increased its holding in the Behr Group from 36.85 percent to approximately 51 percent with the acquisition of all shares in the BWK GmbH holding company. The company now goes by Mahle-Behr.

Radiator fit perfectly with little issues. Would highly recommend replacing entire cooling system.. I'd spring for the upper and lower radiator hoses to go with. Also comes with two plugs.. If you have a MANUAL, use the short plug. AUTOMATIC uses long plug.

Only manual oe radiator
I needed a new OE radiator for a manual, and this was the only best option. Aftermarket manufactures didn’t bother making manual rads for these cars. My temps had been running high too, so this was the only option. Fit perfectly, rain upper hose was tight but fit, and fixed my cooling temps. Previously sticking around 215-225, they now stay within 205f and 215 during traffic.. just don’t take the drain out and it will probably never leak

not even sure i got what i paid for...
2009 BMW Z4 30i I had broke the plastic top hose for my original radiator which up untill then had survived atleast 5 years of my own spirited driving and abuse up to 220,000 miles in addition to quite possibly if it was the original radiator installed from factory, the original 170000 service miles put on the car before i became my Z4's current owner. was trying to get her back on the road on short notice and for cheap as summer was getting closer and i missed driving with the top down so this radiator for just under $200 seemed like it'd do the trick. the radiator started leaking from the side casing in under a week of driving. other reviews of this part share similar results if only marginally better. a track record like this begs the question why a part like this even continues to be stocked and sold. the hassle of uninstalling the defective part, applying for a refund/warrantied replacement, waiting for it to be delivered, installing the new part with no real certainty it will even last any longer than the first one justifies the extra cost of avoiding this part entirely and buying direct OEM or going full aluminum, which is what i should have done originally. live and learn i guess.

A few years but that's all
Mine lasted just about 4 years, which seems to be better than some here. But that was only about 10,000 miles so still not great. The tank separated on one side.

Not built to last
I had a hose burst in my 328i about two years ago, so I bought one of these along with several hoses and whatnot to replace everything at once. Already having to replace the radiator due to a leak at one of the corners. I don't expect things to last forever, but it's extremely disappointing when they fail this soon.

Horrible quality
Went through two of these of these already, On average, each lasted less than 20 months. Even with the lifetime warranty this is not worth it. I don't want to have to keep changing radiators that often. Will just throw mine away and buy the 100% aluminum radiator; it used to be available on FCP euro but it is backordered now. Will have to order somewhere else unfortunately.

Lasted less than 1 year
Only had it for less than a year and started leaking from the driver's side end tank where it meets the aluminum portion.

Radiator
Was having a hard time finding the correct radiator for my car on Amazon because I needed the one for the manual 328i, FCPEURO came out like a superhero and just a few clicks and I was ordering the correct radiator and even better the OE radiator, so it did fit perfect, just a small complaint, it did not come with new retaining clips on the bottom of the radiator for the fan to sit on, but it's ok I just used the ones from the old radiator. No leaks and keeping my bimmer cool.

Put me Back on the Road
I was surprised to find a *large* crack in the plastic upper hose connecting pipe on my radiator on my '06 330i. If you're starting to get the 'coolant level low' warning, It's time to grab all of the hoses and the radiator. You might also want the pump and the thermostat if yours hasn't been replaced. This fit just right, it's an easy job!
