I own a 2011 BMW 128i that i been modifying to be a half decent and half reliable car that i can take to the track and i can daily drive. One of my first upgrades was to put this set of control arms in it, at first drives is going to be some handling changing for you because it changes the whole geometry of your suspension, but is a really good upgrade if you are looking for some better grip at turns or some more drifting action. Suspension in the front becomes really stiff and the braking improves a lot. I would recommend it but get your proper alignment done once you finish the upgrade

I just finished doing this this afternoon and here are some tips for doing the front: 1. Presoak everything generously with PB blaster. It makes cracking any nuts/bolts much easier. Wipe up any excess up before attempting to loosen anything 2. Removing the wishbone leaves grooves on the inside of the subframe. Use a Dremel or course sandpaper to smooth the surface out. Give everything a good clean with brake cleaner and use silicone grease to help the new arm into place (you don’t want to use regular grease because it may break down the rubber bits in the ball joint). No need for grease on the thrust arm. 3. Do not use a hammer to force the new wishbone in as FCP does in the video!! Doing so will mar the inside surface of the subframe and may damage your ball joint. Use a Dremel or bench grinder to grind down the “long end” of the ball joint (the side that points towards the front of the car). It is a VERY small amount of material you are removing and doing so is the difference between spending hours wrestling the new arm in versus ~5 minutes of grinding and 3 minutes of working it into the subframe. Grind a little bit from the ball joint mating surface (long end only!), then try to fit it in – if it doesn’t fit without significant force, grind a little more and try again. Keep repeating until you can get it into place with just a light smack from a deadblow hammer. If you spend more than 5 total minutes of deliberate grinding, something is wrong. 4. To remove the nuts from the knuckle, pre-treat them w/PB blaster (see above) and use an impact gun (plus a long extension for the wishbone). If the bolt starts to spin, try applying pressure from the opposite side. For instance, jack the wishbone arm up using a rubber block then try using an impact gun on the nut. If it still spins on you and you must use the T40 counter hold, do not loosen the nut using the counter hold!! You will likely strip it and you may need to cut the bolt! 5. Finally, the kit does not include the in-board nuts/bolts – only the new nuts for the knuckle side. If you want to replace these, buy the control arm install kit on their website. Hope this helps!!

99k 135i. I Installed the M3 upgrade kit.. I love that the under steer is corrected. I had a -0.7 camber on the right front and a -1.1 camber on the left front without any strut tower adjustment.

M3 upgrade is something everyone should do. Steering so nice and firm.

Installed on my 150k mile 135i, car is much more planted and stable under heavy acceleration. Should have done this ages ago!!

Awesome kit car handles extremely well this is a must have if you canyon carve, shipping was fast all the way to west coast in like 4 dayz was not expecting that thank you FCP

The installation was fairly easy if you have the right tools with you. A dremel is a must have for this project, you have to file down the subframe mounting point for the thrust arm and front lower control arm. File it down just enough for the bushing to fit right in, and use a mallet to push it in. Make sure to get a alignment after the installation, and ask the shop for a M3 alignment. Overall, The vehicle rides fantastic! Definitely stiffer and very responsive. I paired this upgrade with Bilstein B6, H and R coil springs and Eibach front sway bar.
