Stock clutch setups on most newer BMW's use a dual-mass flywheel and a rigid disc. Dual mass flywheels are generally pretty heavy and leave a lot to be desired in terms of performance and durability under heavy use such as track driving. One of the easiest ways to change the driving characteristics of your BMW is to delete the dual mass flywheel and replace it with a solid flywheel that is significantly lighter than stock. This kit uses a Fidanza all-aluminum flywheel that weighs in at 13 pounds.

Combined with the deletion of the dual mass flywheel we have included an E36 M3 clutch kit with a rigid clutch disc. While this clutch and flywheel option may seem pretty harsh it is very streetable. Unlike a hub sprung clutch disc the rigid clutch disc creates the feeling of instant engagement. This setup is specifically recommended for use on cars which will see lots of track use or for a dedicated track car. The E36 M3 clutch setup us capable of handling lots of abuse without being harsh or unfriendly to drive.

Included with this kit is an E31 steel clutch fork pivot pin which is the most durable option on the market available. It's especially ideal for this clutch and flywheel setup. In addition, FCP Euro has included a torque plate and properly sized flywheel bolts to properly install the flywheel with the torque plate.

Please note: The included flywheel bolts that are packaged with the Fidanza flywheel are not properly sized for installation with a torque plate which we recommend doing to prevent galling of the aluminum flywheel when torquing the flywheel bolts. Included M12x1.5x35 bolts should be installed using blue threadlocker after thoroughly cleaning the threads on the crankshaft. Torque spec for the class 10.9 M12x1.5 bolts is 115Nm. The pressure plate bolts are torqued to 25Nm.
