Product Information

From the factory BMW installed a low pressure fuel sensor manufactured by Sensata. While it is still available as p/n 13537614317 BMW TIS recommendations suggest to replace it with a Bosch low pressure fuel sensor p/n 13537622231. The visual difference between the two sensors is the originally installed fuel sensor is brass colored while the updated sensor is silver.

To install the updated sensor on an original fuel feed line you will need to install an adapter as the Bosch manufactured sensor has a different threaded connection than the originally installed Sensata sensor. Another alternative is to replace the entire feed line with the updated version but that is ultimately not an ideal solution.

This kit includes the new updated Bosch sensor, the proper adapter for fitting it to the originally equipped fuel feed line (original feed line is p/n 16122283485), and a replacement fuel pressure sensor o-ring.

Note: The adapter to the fuel line must be torqued to 20Nm. The low pressure fuel sensor threads must be lightly coated with oil before torquing, torque for fuel sensor is 20Nm.

Fuel Pressure Sensor

A fuel pressure sensor is an essential component in a vehicle's fuel system, typically located on the fuel rail or line. It monitors the fuel pressure going into the engine's fuel injectors, ensuring that the engine control unit receives accurate data to adjust the fuel delivery for optimal engine performance and efficiency.

Fuel Pressure Sensor Failure Symptoms
  • Hard Starting or No Start: If the sensor fails completely, the ECU may prevent the engine from starting to protect it from running too lean or rich. This can lead to difficulty starting or, in some cases, a no-start condition
  • Decreased Fuel Efficiency: Incorrect fuel pressure readings can cause the ECU to send too much or too little fuel to the engine, resulting in decreased fuel economy

Fuel system
Need if u want optimize fuel system on n54. Do not need to replace line as the kit will make things work. O ring goes on bottom of adapter to line. Thanks FCP.

Peace of Mind
A lot of people report issues with their valve around 50k miles. I replaced my oem old style at 52k. Prepare for the valve to be a pain to remove, but with the new installed I have peace of mind for the future. I didn't notice any differences with the new valve but that's a good thing.

Lpf sensor kit
Bosch update kit is working like new again. Tried oem and aftermarket sensors and kept gettin same codes. Installed this update kit and hasn't been a issue since!

Replacement on 2008 335i
I was replacing the starter on my 335i and while removing the intake manifold and wiring junction box, I ended up pulling on the wire going to the low pressure fuel pump and broke the sensor. It seems you can replace with the old style (brass color) or replace with the newer style (silver color) sensor. Problem is the fitting style is different-- O-ring (old) vs tapered compression fitting (new). This sensor/adapter kit has everything you need. The electrical connector is the same and the DME has not complaints.

Fits correctly with 07 N54 engines
Fitted correctly with N54 engine, FCP has listed it incompatible curretly, but it does it. Have had no issues and error has gone away in the ECU.
