There are numerous reasons why you would want to pressure test a cooling system. The most common use of pressure testing is to identify the source of external (or internal) cooling system leaks under pressure, which effectively simulates running conditions of a cooling system up to operating temperature.
Another reason to use a pressure tester is to test the cooling system after a major repair. This ensures system integrity before filling the cooling system and should be an important step in the repair process.
