Product Information

It's time for a brake service if your BMW's steering wheel shakes while braking or the light is illuminated on your dash indicating your bake pads are too thin. There are numerous critical parts of your BMW's brake system. The two main wear items are the brake pads and the brake rotors. By their very nature they are intended to wear out.

Brake rotors can wear out in several ways. The most common reason for replacing brake rotors is because they are "warped". Warped brake rotors is another way of saying that there are uneven deposits on the rotor surface from the brake pads. This can cause the steering wheel to shimmy while braking. Rotors can be machined to remove the deposits but this is usually counterproductive and it's often safer and easier to just replace the rotors. One brake rotors reach their minimum specified thickness they must be replaced.

Brake pads are the friction material that allow for braking to begin with. They are softer than the brake rotor surface and tend to wear quicker. The brake pad wear sensor attached to the brake rotor will be tripped when the pad becomes too thin and illuminate a light on your dash letting you know that a brake service is required.

Brake kit
Good set of brakes good price they're not as soft as the brakes you get from BMW so they don't leave even half as much brake dust all over my rims so I like them

Long life, high performance
Installed this kit in feb 2019 on my ‘11 328i. After 25000 miles the pads are half worn and the rotors show minimal rust even in NE winters. Really great product and stopping power is impressive and smooth.

For the price, you can't beat this rotor kit. Installation is straight forward, make sure you double check after removing old rotors to make sure the dust shields don't rub against the new rotors. The Akebono brakes cause a bit of dust but it's normal they don't make noise and I've been driving for about 60 miles since new install. The pads seem like they do not need a "bed in" period although I did one anyways.. avoid engaging the ABS for the first 500 miles at least.. brake normally and slow. 4 out 5 stars because after cleaning the rotors the gray "Z" coating wore off after one day and it rained out.. the rotors looked rusted with numerous rust color water spots which I expected. The front sensor was easier to install than the rear one. For the price.. I'm satisfied. Good OEM replacement.
