It's time for a brake service if your BMW's steering wheel shakes while braking or the light is illuminated on your dash indicating your bake pads are too thin. There are numerous critical parts of your BMW's brake system. The two main wear items are the brake pads and the brake rotors. By their very nature they are intended to wear out.

Brake rotors can wear out in several ways. The most common reason for replacing brake rotors is because they are "warped". Warped brake rotors is another way of saying that there are uneven deposits on the rotor surface from the brake pads. This can cause the steering wheel to shimmy while braking. Rotors can be machined to remove the deposits but this is usually counterproductive and it's often safer and easier to just replace the rotors. One brake rotors reach their minimum specified thickness they must be replaced.

Brake pads are the friction material that allow for braking to begin with. They are softer than the brake rotor surface and tend to wear quicker. The brake pad wear sensor attached to the brake rotor will be tripped when the pad becomes too thin and illuminate a light on your dash letting you know that a brake service is required.

I bought these after seeing the reviews in here... I was disappointed that they are squeaky, I've never had my breaks squeak before

Front Zinc Coated Brake Rotors & Ceramic Brake Pads
These were an excellent fitment for my 2013 BMW 528i. I upgraded to ceramic brake pads from the dealership Semi-Metallic. I think that metal on metal contact is not for the typical driver's comfort nor is hearing the loud thud. This issue is prevalent in brand new vehicles as well. If you want reliability and comfort the semi-metallic brake pads will be a better choice. I changed my brake pads and rotors myself and felt the difference in sound, the vibration from my steering wheel stopped due to previously worn rotors and semi-metallic brake pads.

man only one sensor came but I was still able to reset my brake pad and I love how they look very shiny silvery and they don't rust which I really love and btw this for the front side rotors and pads!

Indeed a complete kit
First timer pad and rotor change so a little anxious and unfamiliar with differences. Now know why brake pad issue on passenger side front didn't trigger brake light on dash. So far, so good with everything replaced and back together. I will delete my two previous review ratings if I can figure out how. Thanks FCP Euro.

Not a complete kit
Two of every item except brake pad wear sensor cable. Disappointing that you have to order another sensor cable separately.

528i Front brake kit
This was a great OEM replacement. Came on time. Best part is the car no longer chatters and has a very smooth brake pedal feel. I did the replacement on the ground in my garage on jack stands and with simple tools. Thanks FCP Euro! 2014 BMW 528i

Hiii!!! Just wondering if I need 2 Brake Pad Sensors when replacing the Front Brakes. Or does the car require only 1 at the time of replacement? I ask because I noticed that the Front Brake kit is sold with only 1 sensor. Thanks in advance.

There is only one pad sensor in the front for the applications listed in the fitment guide. It is located specifically on the front left corner while there is no pad wear sensor on the front right corner.
