Replaced your E83 X3's front tension struts which are a common failure point of the front suspension

This basic 4-piece control arm kit is designed to make replacing your X3's tension struts a little easier. The tension struts play a key role in maintaining your BMW's suspension geometry. Worn inner bushings can have a severe negative effect on handling and alignment. Additionally, worn outer ball joints can develop play over time causing another common point of suspension play which has an adverse effect on handling and alignment.

This kit is built around Meyle HD tension struts. Meyle HD parts are re-engineered versions of OE components to address common failure and wear points. The tension struts feature solid rubber bushings with added reinforcements to reduce suspension deflection and improve performance. The outer ball joint is a standard Meyle component which will compliment the HD tension strut.

Suspension Control Arm Kit

Control arms are crucial link in a vehicle's suspension connecting the suspension to a vehicle's subframe. These pieces are usually hinged to allow for suspension to travel and articulate as the vehicle rides over obstructions in the road and while the vehicle turns. Many vehicles such as those with independent suspensions have multiple links and feature several connection points and arms to offer better ride quality and comfort.

As bushings and joints in a control arm begin to wear you may notice a looseness feel in your suspension. And while many arms have replaceable and serviceable individual components, many still require the replacement of the entire arm. Below are signs of when a replacement control arm may be needed.
