I replaced the front ball joints in my 2008 BMW X3 along with some other suspension components. These were a drop in replacement. I had to manufacture a special tool to remove the old ball joints, but it really wasn't too bad. The Meyle ball joints include new capscrews, washers and split lock washers. The factory capscrews do not have the lock washers. The factory capscrews have external torx heads, whereas the Meyle are an internal hex. I can't comment on the durability at this point.
