You will also need to purchase the coolant pipe o-ring found HERE!

These engines are known to produce an oil leak from the cam cradle which allows oil to run down the front of the engine block and onto the water pump housing. Over time this oil will deteriorate the plastic of the water pump housing which will cause a coolant leak.

Upgrading to an aluminum housing will prevent any future water pump failures caused by the oil leak.

leak with original gasket

I have ordered this pump from FCP because the ones from Amazon (at much lower price) has mixed review including complains that the gasket coming with pump does not provide sufficient seal. Unfortunately, when I torqued the water pump to the spec according to the instruction, I found leaks from the interface between the water pump and the engineer, and need to redo the job. FCP EURO had good customer service provided me replacement gasket with fast shipping. Given that I was looking for high confidence when redo the job, I ordered VW gasket myself instead. with the VW gasket, the leak was fixed. I would given one star for the pump, did not expect at much higher than Amazon price, I still need to redo the job. If I have know it, I could ordered much cheaper pump from Amazon with all VW branded seal and gasket. the one extra star is for the customer service. I indeed ordered extra seal and bolts in case i need them, which come in zip bag. later I found I could not return them given there is no original package coming with it. I wish I have known it when I ordered them.

14' VW Tiguan

Replaced the factory pump with this one. Not inexpensive, but an upgrade IMHO over the genuine which is mostly plastic, which was failing and leaking. Engine temps are stable and no leaks. Hopefully it won't need to be replaced for a LONG time as you have to remove the entire intake manifold to get to it.

Do you know how can I find the instruction coming with this? I received the replacement gasket, but can’t find the instruction of toque spec and the order of tighten the screws . Thanks

I do not have installation instructions for this specifically, but these bolts included in this kit do not get torqued to a high setting they are just torqued to 9 Nm.

I have asked a few question here before. I have a VW 2012 Tiguan. After replacing the water pump with this set using the O-ring and seals coming with it, I got leakage from the interface between the water pump and the engineer, where the O-ring (06J121119) sits. I have followed the instruction coming with the set, tied up the screws to the torque it called out and in the right order, the mating surface is clean, and the o-ring is placed in a way that with the tab on the side of the O-ring going through the slot. I did take the water pump off again, and do not see anything obnormal on O-ring (06J121119), it is clean, and the metal surface around it is also clean. I am wondering whether there is any problem with this O-ring (06J121119) coming with this set. I am wondering whether there is any warranty for this? and if I need to buy a new O-ring, do I also get a new set of screw, or need to use any type of lock tie on the screws (seems that is on the new screws came with the set) when I reassemble. Thanks

We have not seen customers run into issues with the gaskets or rings in this kit or generation of engine, as we offer the rings separately. However, if you are having any issues with leakage from this pump we can have an Elring version sent your way to replace your existing one as well as associated hardware. I have received the unit, but I only see one O-ring in the package. while the pictures shows multiple O-rings in different sizes. by any chance there are Orings that have missed in the shipment. Meantime, seems similar sets sell on Amazon come with Upper and lower radiator hose O-ring. if they are not including in this sets, do you have a link I can buy separately. thanks

Those are the o-rings for the oil cooler hose, the radiator hose o-rings are not sold separately/serviceable separately, you would need to replace the whole hose.

Hi, I am interested to buy the Rein water pump for my VW Tiguan 2012. I notice you sell other plastic OEM version with more o-rings and temp sensor like this one (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vw-water-pump-kit-pierburg-kit-01780). I am wondering whether I need to buy the other O-rings from you as well to make sure all the O-rings around the pump are replaced. and do I need to buy a new temp sensor as well, it is not clear to me whether that is included or I can reused the one from my current pump. if I need to buy a new temp sensor, Do I need to buy temp sensor retainer, o-ring etc. thanks

I have a 2012 VW CC R-Line 6 speed manual with the CBFA engine (vin# WVWNP7AN2CE520857) and I need to make sure this fits my car. I tried a different vendor and they told me I don't have a CBFA motor according to my VIN but I know for sure I have a secondary air pump. I want an aluminum pump but only the plastic ones seem to come up for my car.
