Product Information

The timing belt in your VW is a critical component that needs to be replaced as part of your VW's required routine maintenance schedule. The timing belt is essentially what keeps your engine in "time" by syncing the upper half and lower half of the engine preventing interference. Better than hydraulic tensioners
Works great on my 2001 GTI, AWD engine code. The included nut was low quality and stripped when torqueing to spec. Pick up a grade 8 nut at the hardware store just in case before installing this kit.

Easy, if not fast, install for a quality kit.
Installed this kit last May. The install was easy enough, once I got it all torn down, but the stud does stick out quite a bit further than the very flat headed factory Allen bolt on the transverse AWW. The whole job takes a while, but that's just because there are so many things to be done, and so very little space to work in, not because it is particularly difficult. On a transverse car the upper timing cover needs to have a hole cut for the stud and bolt.
