Audi VW 2.0T FSI High Pressure Fuel Pump

The high pressure fuel pump is responsible for pressurizing the fuel that was sent from your gas tank to the fuel rail. Overtime, the high pressure fuel pump becomes weak which will cause your vehicle to run lean and will turn the check engine light on. This kit was created to replace your vehicle's weak/worn direct injection high pressure fuel pump.

Direct Injection High Pressure Fuel Pump

A direct injection high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) is a critical component in modern gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines. Unlike traditional fuel pumps, it boosts fuel pressure to extremely high levels (often over 2,000 psi) so fuel can be directly injected into the combustion chamber. This enables better fuel atomization, improved efficiency, and higher power output. The HPFP is typically driven by the camshaft and works in tandem with a low-pressure fuel pump. Over time, wear, contamination, or internal failure can lead to drivability issues.

Direct Injection High Pressure Fuel Pump Failure Symptoms
  • Engine performance problems – hard starting, hesitation, misfires, or loss of power under load.
  • Fuel-related issues – check engine light, lean/rich codes, or reduced fuel economy.
  • Noises or leaks – ticking/whining sounds from the pump or visible fuel leakage at the pump area.

Exactly what I needed
What can I say other than - job well done. Quick delivery, installation was a breeze (videos on YT) and I was back up and running in no time. Note to DIYers - don't make the mistake I did. I was replacing the cam follower and removed a brass fitting from the bottom of the pump. Little did I know it has a tiny piece (I imagine a filter...?) under the fitting and....down it went into the engine, nowhere to be found. No one had even a defective or used pump I could salvage from so...I bought this one, knowing I'll never have to pay to replace it again. Thanks FCP!
