This front CV axle assembly from GKN is a high quality OEM replacement for a crucial component in your Porsche's/Audi's drivetrain. The CV axle assembly connects to your vehicle's transmission and wheels to allow them to rotate in the correct direction.

Due to harsh road conditions or age the axle assembly boots can tear causing axle grease to leak. When the CV boots tear and lose grease you can hear clicking noises when turning and or feel vibrations when driving. CV boots are serviceable but can be very messy and take longer to repair. To save time and prevent grease getting everywhere we recommend replacing the CV axle assembly instead.

Also use with (1) 8E0407643A and (6) PAF904411 bolts.

CV Axle Assembly

The CV (Constant Velocity) axle assembly is responsible for transferring torque and rotational power from the transmission to the wheels while allowing for suspension movement and steering articulation. The CV axle consists of a shaft with joints at both ends: a CV joint that connects the axle to the transmission and another CV joint that connects the axle to the wheel hub. This design allows the axle to handle changes in angle and length as the vehicle moves, especially when turning or going over bumps.

CV Axle Assembly Failure Symptoms
  • Clicking or Popping Noises: One of the most common signs of a failing CV axle is a clicking or popping noise when turning the vehicle. This noise typically occurs when the CV joint is damaged or worn out, especially during sharp turns.
  • Vibration While Driving: A failing CV axle can cause noticeable vibrations while driving, especially at higher speeds. This vibration may indicate that the axle is bent, or damaged, or that the CV joints are worn out.
  • Grease Leaks: If the CV axle boot tears or cracks, grease can leak out. You may notice grease on the inside of the wheel or around the CV joint. This can lead to increased wear on the joint due to a lack of lubrication.

front axle Macan. Audi Q5
The front axle is the same for a macan and a Audi Q5 2013 to 2017, they are both the same left and right front., Only for 2.0 3.0 Engines, both!. Now the Macan GTS Is a Different shaft length not for the GTS!. THE GKN 306819 is the genuine Porsche Shaft for engines 2.0, 3.0 but not GTS

This is for one side. Not both. Q and A statement “This will fit both front left and front right” should be changed to left or right.

Will this fit the 2016 Audi q5 3.0t ? The part number for the 3.0T on Audi’s website is 4G0407271F I believe this part corresponds the half front axle for the Q5 2.0T. The part number for that is 8R0407271G. On Audi’s website it says that this front axle won’t fit the 3.0T. Please confirm Thanks

The reviewer made the mistake of thinking that this axle is sold as two pieces, one for the right and one for the left. This is a single axle, and can be used to replace either the left or the right side of the vehicle. If you are replacing both sides, you will need to order two axles.
