A popular anti-seize compound which is a must have for the DIYer

A highly refined blend of aluminum, copper and graphite lubricants. Use during assembly to prevent galling, corrosion and seizing due to weathering or chemicals. Anti-Seize assures easier disassembly. Temperature range: -60°F to 1600°F (-51°C to 871°C). Salt, corrosion and moisture resistant making it ideal for marine use.

We highly recommend use of this antiseize compund on wheel hubs, brake rotors, cylinder head and exhaust head bolts, or any other hardware that sees a lot of heat or elements.

About Permatex

Permatex was founded in 1909 by Constant A. Benoit Sr. when he developed the first Permatex product which was a shellac designed to bond bicycle tires to their rims. Shortly after that in 1915, Constant attended a 24 hour endurance race in which he observed that very frequently drivers were having to return to the pit area due to blown headgaskets. Quickly Benoit saw an opportunity to apply some of his experimental gasket compound to a vehicle in which it then ran the rest of the 24 hour race without any issues! The rest is history. Today the company is partnered with ITW (Illinois Tool Company) and has recently celebrated their 100 year anniversary in 2009. The company is known for excellence with over 350 products, and produces nearly 1,200 SKUs in several markets to include automotive, marine, heavy duty, and off highway.

The contents are WAAAYY to much than what is necessary on my 2011 e93 convertible. It lubricates well and reduces noise when top is being dropped.

Wonderful
This is a must have when doing brakes. Why would you want to sit there and try a beat a rotor off or bolts rusted on. Do yourself a favor and pick up a bottle of this stuff.

Great product. a "must have in your toolbox" item. WP bolts, thermostat housing bolts, even wheel lugs, everything that's subject of intense thermal cycling, should be assembled with this lube. Saves threads and avoids the potential mess of snapping a seized bolt's neck having to drill and extract and whatnot to get them out.

Is the Permatex 80078 anti-seize lubricant compatible with the metals used in the BMW e90 N52 engine block? Thanks.

It is highly recommended to not use any anti-seize when installing any of the required aluminum fasteners that thread into the N52's magnesium/aluminum engine block. All fasteners are torque to yield and anti-seize can act like a torque multiplier especially when used in a blind hole.
