Abrasive Pressure Blaster (20LB) - 98030

I did the intake valve clean job on my VW tiguan and this worked perfect. This does not come with a wand so buy "BMW N54 N55 Media Blasting Wand - FCP Euro B1100003" as a wand attachement. The instructions are trash so use youtube on how to assemble it like it did.

Used on my Audi Q5 3.0T. Be sure to buy the BMW wand, 034 motorsport adapter and harbor freight 25lbs bag of walnut or two bottles of what FCP sells. 4 stars because it did its job, took a lot longer than I expected due to clogs and needing the BMW wand because the provided nozzle ends up clogging. Little tip, give the tank a shake before starting each time. Directions for putting together and use aren't clear, definitely have to use your better judgement. I think they should use different valves mainly for the trigger. I ended up cutting handle of the valve down because it was so uncomfortable. I noticed having the tank inlet open full, the airline inlet valve maybe 1/4 cranked with the bottom tank valve 1/2-full open worked the best with the trigger at least 1/2-full. I used a 150PSI old craftsman air compressor, it will work but only 10-15 seconds before you have to wait for a recharge. This thing definitely needs consistent air to work a lot better. All in all, I'm very pleased with the results once you figure it out, will end up trying to figure out a better trigger mechanism.

Eventually it worked but I have two major complaints: 1. My funnel was smashed to bits in the box so I had to resort to a normal funnel and this took forever. 2. The inside of the tank as well as the box and everything else was covered in tiny metal balls; maybe something used to clean the tank during manufacturing. This all needed to be cleaned out before using it on an intake.

This is a dealership-quality tool. I do recommend buying the wand attachment as well as it does come with the kit.

Good Quality product. Wish the system came pre-assembled. (Felt like it took about 2hr to assemble .. sometimes I had to take apart parts to add more tape on connections to prevent air leaks or had to take apart to change the direction of a valve).

At first, I didn't tight enough and it send walnut media all over my floor. After I wrenched it down it worked very well.

The blaster you receive is not exactly like the one pictured. The one you'll get doesn't have the wheels or pressure regulator. Other than that it will do the job.

Sure, you can find people describing methods of making a similar kit yourself all over the web for a little bit less money, but this kit worked flawlessly and included the regulator and what appeared to be a moisture separator (though my climate isn't very humid), and I was quite surprised when I opened the box and discovered that it was almost completely assembled already. All that was left to do was pop the wheels on and attach the hose at the bottom, then fill it up and get to work. It was worth the extra money for that part, alone. And even if I never walnut blast another intake valve again in my life, I now have a very good quality media blaster in my arsenal of tools.

This tool really does the job. This is a professional blaster that made the valves look new. Note get the 20lb bag of shells.
