Pliers

Pliers are a type of hand tool designed to grip, bend, compress, or cut materials. They consist of two handles joined at a pivot point (like scissors), with jaws on one end and grips on the other. By squeezing the handles, the jaws apply force to hold or manipulate an object.

Key Features of Pliers

  • Pivot joint: Multiplies hand force applied at the jaws.
  • Jaws: Can be flat, serrated, curved, or cutting, depending on the type.
  • Handles: Often coated with rubber or plastic for comfort and insulation.
