Product Information

This special pass through socket allows for proper torquing and tightening of the strut mount top nut. This socket features a 21mm counter hold at the top that can either be used with the special CTA pass thru ratchet (CTA- 3039X14) or a regular 21mm wrench.

Since this socket is 82mm deep it allows for easy access to recessed strut nuts inside deep strut mounts. In addition the top of the socket where the counterhold is has a pass through slot wide enough for a variety of counterhold tools to be used with easy to properly torque the strut shaft top nut to the strut mount.

This is a must have addition to the tool box for the DIYer or the professional alike.

Socket tool for Strut
The tool works great - no problems. I think if you had a socket set pass through, or through hole sockets would work as well. Works better to crack nut loose before compressing spring, that way the spring keeps pressure on the rod a little to keep it from turning. Then after you get the spring compressed the 6mm Allen will hold the shaft from turning. Used it on Sachs SAC-170811 shock absorber, no problems getting old one loose and tightening the new one.

Save yourself the time and headache
