The complete retractor set is designed for vehicles that have a "screw type" rear parking brake mechanism. It comes with 15 adapters for foreign and domestic applications. Includes left-hand and right-hand helix bolts.

Brake kit
This kit is great, it has attachments for every vehicle I've tried to use it on. Make sure you know which way your suppose to rotate the piston. It comes with both which is great.

Will this kit work on the rear caliper of a 2021 BMW X5 M50i? I believe I need a 3 pin adapter and while I see one in there, I don't think that's the correct configuration of the pins.

We would not recommend this Astro 78618 kit as a confirmed fit for the rear calipers on a 2021 BMW X5 M50i. The kit is a universal wind-back set, but the G05 X5 rear caliper uses an electronic parking brake setup and the 3-pin adapter has to match the BMW piston face exactly; the 3-pin adapter in this kit is not confirmed for that application. There are two piston compression tools in the displayed kit. Is one for rotating brake pistons and the other for non-rotating pistons?

One compression tool is left threaded the other is right threaded.

We can't answer your question without knowing what car you are talking about. Generally, if your vehicle has electronic parking brakes with an electronic actuator on the caliper itself you need to use a scan tool to retract the EPB actuator first and then you can use a regular piston retractor to push the piston back in. They are generally not a twist in style caliper piston. Please email your vehicle info to service@fcpeuro.com so we can confirm what is needed for your specific vehicle and assist you further.
