The Mercedes SLK 32 AMG came with a 3.2 liter V6 that was supercharged from the factory producing a hearty 349 horsepower for the performance minded Mercedes fans. With greatly improved horsepower of the SLK it became a fierce threat to the BMW M series Roadster and Porsche Boxster S. The AMG division went all out and even added a Speedshift five-speed automatic transmission to the SLK32 providing 32 percent quicker up shifts. A notable engine design feature unique to the Mercedes SLK32 was the two spark plugs per cylinder design for maximum combustion. The SLK AMG model still had awesome signature features of the regular SLK including a retractable hardtop, one of the first modern hardtop convertibles of its time.
