About Audi S3
The Audi S3 was first available for the 1999 model year and was available in Mexico, Europe, Japan, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. It was powered by a 1.8 liter 20 valve turbo charged engine and marked the first time Audi put a small 4-cylinder in a “S” Series car. The S3 used a different four wheel drive system compared to Quattro, its a Haldex Track system that adjusts the torque bias to each wheel.
The second generation of the Audi S3 started in 2006 and used a stout 2.0 liter turbocharged FSI engine with 261 hp. The design of the Audi S3 was done by Quattro GmbH, this generation Audi S3 had the Quattro four-wheel drive system standard. A newly released third generation Audi S3 has a 2.0 liter TFSI engine cranking out 296 horsepower propelling the S3 to 60 in just 5 seconds.
