An Audi A6 is known as a mid-sized luxury car with production starting on the C4 platform with four generations in total including C4, C5, C6 and C7. The Audi A6 is the successor to the Audi 5000 with the regular A6 being front wheel drive and the Quattro all-wheel drive. The power plants in the A6 included a 2.7 liter V6, 3.0 liter V6 diesel and a 4.2 liter V8 engine.In the US a fourth generation of the Audi A6 was available for the 2012 model year using many features from the Audi A8 flagship model along with interior and powertrain platform from the Audi A7. The North American models received a 2.0T 4-cylinder and 3.0 liter V6 supercharged engine as available options with integration of an 8-speed automatic transmission. Technology was further enhanced for 2012 with more features available including lane assist, driver assist, heads up display, adaptive lights and headlight range control.
