About Audi 4000
The Audi 4000 is known as the Audi 80 in other parts of the world and was called the Audi Fox for 1973- 1979 model years and Audi 4000 for 1980 to 1987 year range. In the US the Audi 4000 was sold in 4000S and 4000CS trim levels, the 4000S had a l.8 liter engine while the 4000 CS had a 2.2 liter engine. Early Audi 4000 models were very similar to the Audi 80 but had additional US mandated safety bumpers along with sealed beam headlights.The Audi 4000S had a power output of 102 hp while the 2.2 liter inline 5 cylinder cranked out 115 hp matted to a 5-speed manual gear box. The fuel injected engines employed aluminum cylinder heads along with single overhead cam setup.
