The Audi 100 C4 generation was available in a front wheel drive and four-wheel drive Quattro platforms with assembly out of Neckarsulm, Germany. The body styles included a 4 door sedan option along with a 5-door wagon option. Audi used type numbers to further distinguish each platform, Type 4A was put in place for the C4 chassis.
