An Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is a critical component in a vehicle’s emission control system. It recirculates a portion of the engine’s exhaust gases back into the intake manifold to be burned again. This process reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by lowering the combustion temperature, helping the vehicle meet emissions regulations, and improving fuel efficiency.

  • Rough Idle: A faulty EGR valve can cause a rough or unstable idle, as incorrect amounts of exhaust gases are recirculated into the intake manifold
