Part number 036105269D is a brand new, unused Genuine Audi/Volkswagen clutch flywheel.

For best clutch engagement, your flywheel must be smooth and true (not warped). If not smooth, it may be possible to resurface the flywheel, but if your flywheel is warped, it must be replaced. Whenever replacing your clutch (or when the transmission is removed from the engine) it is always best to review the condition of all parts including the clutch and flywheel.

Clutch Flywheel

A clutch flywheel is a heavy, circular metal disc (usually made of steel or cast iron) mounted on the rear of the engine’s crankshaft in manual transmission vehicles. It plays a key role in both engine operation and clutch engagement.

Clutch Flywheel Failure Symptoms
  • Clutch slippage or poor engagement – worn or damaged flywheel surface reduces grip.
  • Vibrations or shuddering – felt when engaging the clutch due to hot spots, warping, or cracks.
  • Difficulty starting the engine – damaged flywheel teeth prevent the starter motor from engaging properly.
