Headlight Level Sensor

A headlight level sensor is a component in a vehicle’s lighting system that detects the vertical position of the vehicle’s headlights. It is part of the automatic headlight leveling system, which adjusts the angle of the headlights based on the vehicle's load and suspension height. This feature helps ensure that headlights illuminate the road properly adjusting based on the height of the vehicle over the road.

Headlight Level Sensor Failure Symptoms
  • Improper Headlight Beam Angle: One of the primary symptoms of a failing headlight level sensor is that the headlights may not adjust correctly. This could manifest as headlights pointing too high or too low, leading to poor visibility on the road or blinding oncoming drivers
  • Headlights Not Leveling: If the headlight leveling system is not functioning at all, the headlights will remain in a fixed position, regardless of changes in vehicle load or terrain. This can result in inconsistent lighting performance

About VNE

VNE GmbH was founded in 2001 by Volker Natorp in Hamburg, Germany. Volker has a long, storied history in the automotive field. He began his career in the 1970s working for Wulf Gaertner and in the 1990s eventually branched out on his own to start his own sales repping agency. During that time, he represented TMD Friction (Pagid/Textar) and managed all of the North American sales for them and eventually added Schaeffler Automotive to his roster.

In 2007, VNE GmbH relocated to Ganderkesee, Germany and was renamed VNE Automotive GmbH & Co.
