A windshield wiper switch is the control mechanism, usually located on the steering column or dashboard, that allows the driver to operate the wiper system. It controls the speed (intermittent, low, high), activation of the washer fluid spray, and sometimes additional features like rain-sensing modes. Over time, electrical contacts or internal components of the switch can wear out, leading to malfunction.

• Unresponsive or erratic wipers – wipers don’t turn on, only work at certain speeds, or won’t turn off.
• No washer fluid activation – washer spray fails to engage when the switch is pressed.
