A wheel arch molding is a protective trim that runs along the edge of the wheel arch above the tires. It is typically made of plastic or rubber and serves both functional and aesthetic purposes. Functionally, it shields the fender and bodywork from mud, stones, and road debris while also helping prevent rust by deflecting water and dirt. Visually, it gives the vehicle a more finished, rugged, or sporty look and, in some cases, ensures compliance with regulations that require wider tires to be covered.
Wheel Arch Molding Failure Symptoms- Cracks or looseness that cause the molding to rattle or partially detach.
- Rust or corrosion developing around the wheel arch from trapped moisture.
- Visible fading or damage that makes the vehicle look worn and poorly maintained.
