Product Information

This O-Ring is built into the variable valve timing hub, and is a common failure point for many Volvo engines. The VVT adjustment is controlled by oil pressure. When this seal leaks, it prohibits the variable valve timing to adjust properly, triggering a check engine light.

It is recommended to inspect this seal when doing a timing belt job, and replace if any leakage is found inside the hub.

This seal is not available separately from Volvo, requiring customers to purchase the entire hub when it fails. It is with pride that we have used the OEM part to produce a replacement using exactly the same measurements AND material as the Genuine Volvo seal. This is an FCP Euro exclusive part!

Common codes associated with VVT actuation issues are P0010, P0011, P0012, P0013, P0014, and P0015.

Timing belt kit
I dont know why this was even included in the kit since it does not go on the C30 car. Make sure when you buy the kit you take this off. its not needed.

Redoing cam seals?
Don't forget these. If you're experiencing a leak around the cams, don't overlook these. All rubber gets tired & if you have the VVT hub off while doing the cam seals, & obviously, mark your limits for the hub before taking it off & make sure it's hitting those same limits when put back on. I've had over 6 months & a few thousand trouble free miles with these seals.

This O-ring fits in the position in the photo on this listing, it seals the outside of the VVT hub. When this o-ring leaks the oil will leak externally and the VVT operation will lag as adequate pressure can't be built up immediately for the actuation, potentially causing a cam correlation code.

We do not sell the outer, this is the one that tends to fail and need replacing. It seals the hub to the main oil pressure journal.
