Trunk Lock Actuator Motor

A trunk lock actuator motor is an electronic component that powers the locking and unlocking mechanism of a vehicle’s trunk. Controlled by the key fob, trunk release button, or central locking system, it converts electrical signals into mechanical movement to open or secure the trunk latch. Over time, the motor or its internal gears and wiring can wear out, leading to access issues.

Trunk Lock Actuator Motor Failure Symptoms
  • Trunk won’t open or lock electronically – unresponsive to key fob or trunk release switch.
  • Intermittent operation – actuator works only sometimes or requires multiple attempts.
  • Clicking or no sound – clicking noise without movement, or complete silence when the trunk release is activated.

Works perfect!
Fits 2015 XC60 trunk latch! Installation of the cable was a little tricky but possible. What worked was pushing the gromet onto the actuator, then bending the end of the cable just a little like the old cable. Otherwise it will pop back out. My trunk was not closing and would open back up for no reason, swapped the trunk latch now its working flawless!
