Product Information

This kit includes 8 liters of Aisin JWS 3309 spec fluid which is required for 2 drain and fills on your Aisin TF80-SC. Total transmission capacity is 7l, each drain will remove around 3l. This enough to mix and replace a substantial amount of the existing oil in your transmission. For a more complete service, add an additional 4l for an extra drain and fill.

There is a specific procedure to do this service correctly, failing to follow it correctly may result in transmission damage. Final fluid level should be set while the transmission temperature is warm (50-60C) with engine running on a level surface. An electronic TCM reset is highly recommended after the oil change, especially if it has been awhile since the last service.

Transmission Service Kit

The transmission oil filter prevents harmful particulate matter from entering the transmission valve body and damaging valve body bores, solenoids, and other fluid passages. Foreign particles in valve body bores, solenoids, or passages will cause shifting issues. Some of these issues include delayed shifts, harsh shifts, or no gear engagement in extreme cases. Clogged filters can reduce fluid volume and flow in the transmission causing starvation of the transmission pump. This can be identified by an RPM-dependent whine from the transmission bell housing area. The transmission oil filter should be changed during any fluid service, and it is critical to replace the filter if major transmission components are replaced such as the torque converter, transmission pump, or transmission valve body.

Also Order the Volvo Transmission Drain Plug Tube - Genuine Volvo 30713218
A good kit but missing ONE VITAL PART - see subject line above. Our experience was the small screw inside the Transmission Drain Plug Tube was unable to be removed and the hex head was stripped. Luckily, we removed the transmission drain tube using vise grips and drained the fluid but were unable to set the correct level until receiving the drain tube a few days later, meaning a second job where one should have sufficed. Note to FCP Euro: add the Volvo Transmission Drain Plug Tube - Genuine Volvo 30713218 to this kit.

2007 Volvo XC90
Great kit. Fantastic price. Dealer wanted $33 + tax for 1 QT of Volvo (rebranded) fluid! I will order this kit again, although I did not replace the check bolt and tiny washer, and had no leaks by reusing the one I had. But nice to have a backup. You will definitely want to use the aluminum crush washer that this kit includes.

Great Kit for Volvo TF80 Change
Convenient, fairly priced kit. I did order 8 more quarts separately (for a total of 16) because the transmission fluid had not ever been changed, and at 130,000 miles, I figured it would be pretty gnarly. 12L in and 12L out (measured by refilling the bottles with the flushed fluid), and I still have a working transmission. The first change was black as midnight and not quite shiny red after the second change, but I didn't want to take any chances completely shocking the poor thing. I'll let that circulate a while and then change it again in 10,000 miles. Even though it wasn't shifting poorly to begin with, I do have a little peace (piece?) of mind with a bit of fresh fluid in there. This kit and the associated FCP DIY video made this whole process a snap.

trans flush
eight quarts is really not enough if it hasn't been changed before- you'll want ten or twelve. basically you're getting the plug and gaskets free otherwise there is other fluid for the same price (at least at my local stores).
