Product Information

This kit includes 8 liters of Aisin JWS 3324 WS spec fluid which is required for 2 drain and fill on your Aisin TF80-SC. Total transmission capacity is 7l, each drain will remove around 3l. This enough to mix and replace a substantial amount of the existing oil in your transmission. For a more complete service, add an additional 4l for an extra drain and fill.

There is a specific procedure to do this service correctly, failing to follow it correctly may result in transmission damage. Final fluid level should be set while the transmission temperature is warm (50-60C) with engine running on a level surface. An electronic TCM reset is highly recommended after the oil change, especially if it has been awhile since the last service.

Transmission Service Kit

The transmission oil filter prevents harmful particulate matter from entering the transmission valve body and damaging valve body bores, solenoids, and other fluid passages. Foreign particles in valve body bores, solenoids, or passages will cause shifting issues. Some of these issues include delayed shifts, harsh shifts, or no gear engagement in extreme cases. Clogged filters can reduce fluid volume and flow in the transmission causing starvation of the transmission pump. This can be identified by an RPM-dependent whine from the transmission bell housing area. The transmission oil filter should be changed during any fluid service, and it is critical to replace the filter if major transmission components are replaced such as the torque converter, transmission pump, or transmission valve body.

Need 10 Qts
Trans is TF-80SC. This kit is great, but it really needs to have 10 quarts so you can drain 3 times instead of 2. Buy two extra quarts because while you are doing this job you just may want to drain a third time, I know I did.

Great kit!
This kit comes with everything you need to service your Volvo TF-80SC transmission! Allows a drain/fill twice, removing much of the contaminated fluid in the process. You'll also need a 17mm hex, to remove the main plug.

Found original burnt fluid in my new Volvo which was quite unfortunate. Used this kit for a flush and fill and it is already shifting much easier.

TF-80 service kit
This kit came with everything I needed to change my transmission fluid. I also purchased 4 additional quarts to flush the system twice.

Aisin Volvo Transmission Service Kit
Posted video walk-through very helpful - much easier procedure than Volvo / Alldata (which requires removal of transmission cooler line and use of special tool). Even though shifting like new already, fluid was darker than motor oil after 50K miles, so I was prepared to use another 4 liters to flush it completely. No need, as it looked like (almost) new after the first 4. Done in under 90 minutes all-in, including 20 minutes waiting for the fluid to come up to temp to set final fill level. Highly recommend - haven't been disappointed yet by FCP Euro!

Transmission fluid replacement kit
If the kit came with 10 liters instead of 8, I could have drained the system twice and had a cleaner final fill.

Volvo Transmission Service Kit - Aisin KIT-521827
Worth every penny. I used to flush transmission fluid in 2012 XC90 with 100K miles. My advice for replacing transmission fluid. Drain original fluid and measure it, it'll help with filling up to the original fluid level. It's much easy then follow the steps from guide lines.

Volvo XC60 Trans Flush
I really liked this kit for flushing my transmission. It was pretty easy and hopefully will make my car work well for longer. I only needed the one kit, the fluid in my car wasn't extremely dirty like some other's have been.

2013 XC70 (3.2 AWD B6324s4 engine): three quick questions: 1) my manual says TF -80SC AW-1. is this correct fluid? 2) Id like to buy more fluid for an extra drain/fill and when I click on the kits individual fluid link a diff picture comes up. Is this additional fluid the same a as in the kit? 3) will the auto 80 similar to what is used in your video do the transmission counter reset? Thanks

Is there a transmission oil filter on my vehicle, it a 2013 Volvo S60 T5 and I don't see a filter available at your site? I watched the video on your oil change kit and there's no mention of a filter. I plan on purchasing this kit and because there's no mention of a filter I'm concerned and wondering. Thank you Julio

No, in this application there would not be a serviceable transmission filter to replace.

An electronic TCM reset is highly recommended after the oil change, especially if it has been awhile since the last service.

I have a 2013 xc 90 r type awd last six of vin 634783 owners manual says tf-80sc trans with fluid jws 3309. Is the owners manual wrong?

There is a noted discrepancy between what was printed in the owner's manuals for vehicles made around this time. Technical journal TJ 16773 specifies AW-1 (JWS3324) for your 2013 XC90. This is mirrored in Volvo's dealership software, and because of that if you were to get a transmission fluid change at the dealership they would install this fluid.

I had this done on my 2012 XC60 at around 110k and at 126k. Is it advisable to do this on higher mileage Volvos or should you not do it? If you haven't been keeping up on this should you still do it at some point? I did one drain and fill recently at 147k and it seemed to really help. The fluid that came out was really dirty. I initially followed the advice of Volvo's service interval guide and as I know now that is wrong, you have to change the fluid.

In your case, absolutely change the fluid. If what came out looked really dirty with one drain, you may need to run through a substantial amount of oil to clean it up. We would recommend doing 3 drain and fills (or more, depending on what the third looks like) with some driving in between each one to make sure the oil is completely mixed. Once completed, take the vehicle to a dealer or licensed Volvo mechanic and have the transmission adaptation reset. This will allow the system to relearn the shift points so it's not compensating for the old fluid. This will ensure a long transmission life for your Volvo.
