Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) are great systems to let you know when you need air in your tires, so you get better gas mileage, and hopefully even avoid getting stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire. Over time the TPMS sensors in the wheels need to be replaced, requiring the tire be deflated (and usually removed) to replace the sensor. Additionally the new sensor needs to be wirelessly "connected" to the car's computer.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor

A Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor is an electronic device mounted inside each wheel that measures tire air pressure and transmits the data to the vehicle’s onboard computer. Its primary purpose is to alert the driver when tire pressure falls below the recommended level, helping maintain safety, fuel efficiency, and even tire wear. A properly functioning TPMS sensor ensures optimal vehicle handling and reduces the risk of tire-related failures.

The sensors communicate with your upper electronic module which is housed in your rear view mirror.

These sensors may or may not need to be synced to a 2008 model year. Drive with them installed for approximately 5 miles and exceed 55 mph. If the light doesn't go off you'll need to have a repair facility sync these to the vehicle.
