Volvo Tie Rod Left Outer (850 960 C70 S70 V70) - Meyle 271598

Meyle Volvo Tie Rod End Left

One of the most common components to wear out on the front of your vehicle are your steering tie rods. Tie rods attached to your steering rack and pinion which is responsible for linking your wheels to the steering column and wheel. Tie rods wear out over time and mileage often resulting in poor handling and alignment. Being as one of the most critical pieces in your front end we recommend to check for excessive play in these items and replace as necessary.

Common Failure Symptoms

  • Poor steering response
  • Premature tire wear
  • Abnormal tire wear
  • Poor Handling

FCP recommends replacing both tie rods on each side at the same time and to get an alignment done on the vehicle shortly thereafter replacement for best performance.

You Get What You Pay For...

Approximately one year of use and 6000 miles... Boot is split and grease is coming out. I'd imagine it is good if you're on smooth roads, mostly highway. But if you're driving city streets. Buy with caution.

First time using a Meyle part. (I typically order Lemforder or Performance Parts. Quality appears very good. If the ball joint holds up, I will be pleased.

Works Great

I installed this on my 1996 Volvo 850 just earlier today, and the installation was quick and easy. No special tools needed. Just a nice solid hammer to get the old one out, two adjustable wrenches, a torque wrench, and a long 19mm socket. It comes with a new nut too. The ball joint torque is 52 ft/lbs. It worked great on the short drive I went on this evening. Here are some pictures I took along the way. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0JwcFRp-MDcdlV5VmN4VTdHV2s&usp=sharing

Diy

So far has held up. My car was stolen, when they decided to ditch it they hit a curb pretty hard and knocked it out of alignment but these did not bend. I would buy again.

I have found these tie rod ends to be of good quality, and am happy with my purchase. Four stars though, because the packaging and boot imply that the parts are German-made. They are Chinese.

Great Value

Great value and high quality product - made my ride feel so much stiffer steering wise. I replace the original after 18 years and 110K miles. Easy to change out just jack up car and remove the wheels. Don't forget to do an alignment afterwards.

Tie Rod Ends

Installed 2 months ago and VERY pleased with the rigidity of the steering. Car no longer pulls to the right when accelerating.

Best Oe Replacement.

I agree with the other reviews, this part is oem quality or betters it. I has nice rubber boots which are tied down and have improved my steering and handling 100% on my 960.

Why Go Oem

This meyle Tie Rod ends, along with a proper suspension overhaul and alaignt, have restored the steering response in my 1994 850 wagon. Happy to report after over 10000 miles, no noticeable deterioration in the operation of these parts.

Some of the reviewers above may have been rewarded for their positive & negative reviews. We don't hold anything back.
