Product Information

The tail shaft bushing is the final main structural oil bearing that the drive shaft coming out of rear of the transmission ride on, making it a prime wear item especially on high mileage vehicles. When the bushing wears out, you will be able to feel driveshaft play right where it meets the back of the transmission, and this can cause vibrations at high speed and even sometimes cause the oil seal to wear prematurely.

This kit includes the tailshaft bushing (which must be pressed in), as well as the rear oil seal and the front gasket for the tailshaft extension housing.

Dont forget to also buy the correct transmission fluid for your vehicle.

Bushing is WAY too big- bigger than worn out bushing

My OEM bushing was worn out, one side totally flat and the groove had disapeared- a tiny wiggle could been felt. On arrival of this bushing, it was WAY too big and had a wiggle 4-5 times greater than the worn out one I was replacing. OEM gasket seems great and the seal looks fine...but this bushing is no where near spec to return car to expected function and clean driveline.

Great Replacement

Fixed a leaking tailshaft bushing and seal. This kit had all the necessary quality parts.

Finally got this job done one afternoon...This kit is good quality and solved my leaky tailshaft. I removed the old bushing with a hacksaw very carefully along one of the oil ports..but I had the new bushing pressed in by a local shop for $4. It took them 5 min and saved me a ton of trouble....Just do it...Get it done! FCP's kit here is a winner.
