Volvo Suspension Strut - Koni Special Active 8745-1110L

Fitment is fine but you will consider the whole kit, including new bump stops, strut mounts, bearings, etc. The difference between Koni and Sachs (original Volvo) is that the rubber bellows do not snap to the strut gland on the Koni, just sit on it. This makes it easier to lift it up and inspect it for a leak but dust will eventually get there anyway, but not stones, which could damage the shaft. In the Koni strut kit, there is also a plastic washer, that you must fit on the shaft, before assembly with some small white small cable ties !?, also provided. These washers allow venting of the air in the bump stop, as it is compressed over a speed bump or pothole. The Sachs have these vents manufactured in the gland. I suggest you mark the position of the spring before you compress it in relation to the strut mount if the paint dots are missing. I have installed them on a C70 T5 2008, which could rattle quite a lot on a rough road. The best to describe these struts is the following: On a good road surface they are just the same, maybe a little softer. On a rural highway the Koni absorbs the cracks quite well and also the joints on concrete slabs better than anything. However, on a sharp turn or a roundabout, they are quite firm and the heavy C70 does not roll. If you like a harder ride, these are not for you, but who goes with a convertible on the track? In conclusion, yes, they are special active, and may assist your passenger in taking selfies during the ride to the beach.
