NOTE:

  • We have been notified by the manufacturer that the Volvo 4C front struts are discontinued. Once current inventory is sold out, we will not be able to replenish.

For vehicles with active suspension "4C", Marked 18 on the VIN plate.

  • When changing front struts, it's highly recommended to also replace the strut mount/bearing assemblies .

  • New spring seats are also highly recommended.

  • For a complete kit including strut mounts, bearings, spring seats and other required hardware for installation, use KIT-535125

New coil springs are advised.

  • Vehicles with a 27 in the front spring position on the VIN plate use 9492228

  • Vehicles marked 28 use 30639016

Suspension Strut Assembly

If your ride feels a little bouncy or you can feel clunks in the suspension while it's going over bumps it is likely due to worn strut assemblies and shock absorbers. The purpose of the strut assembly is it acts as a central pivot point for the suspension while housing the coil spring. It also dampens the compression and rebound of the coil spring as the suspension moves up and down. When replacing suspension components it is highly recommended to replace them in pairs.

Great replacement part
Make sure to replace all other strut hardware AND SPRINGS when doing 4C. Fixed most of my front end clunk on my 06 V70R with blown shocks @80k mi. Also, take extreme care when routing the 4C wire... I learned this the hard way and had to redo the entire job when it wrapped around the axle.

Really glad these are still available as you know these great cars are aging. Thanks for the support FCP saved a lot of money and didn't have to hack something together. Rides like factory! (I also did the rears at the same time)

4C $uspension repair terror
During the Winter Autocross season, I destroyed the original strut and was told (by a former Volvo dealer service tech) that my repair costs would be close to $900 each! I was so relived to find these available at my favorite source for Volvo parts for a lot less. Please keep up the good work that allows us enthusiasts to enjoy our unique cars. Installation was easy, just remember to slowly stroke these up and down a few times to get all the air out.
